+## Why the move?
+
+I no longer trust GitHub to be a good long-term steward of my repositories:
+
+- **Leadership changes** away from the developer-first ethos.
+- **Microsoft's incompetence** running the platform.
+- **AI scraping and training** on hosted code with no meaningful opt-out.
+
+Self-hosting on Gitea gives me ownership of my work.
